Dear Matcha Lovers,
To me, I use matcha as part of my morning moment. The thought of waking up and looking forward to whisking my matcha before I even start my day brings me joy.
No matter what the day holds, I know I’ll have a few minutes to prepare my matcha. On some mornings, I’m too busy to enjoy the full experience. On those days, I give myself just two minutes to prepare it, then sip it slowly on the train or wherever I’m headed to.
Before my love for matcha began, I was a tea drinker. Tea took less than a minute to make, so I never really felt like I had a moment to even pause and enjoy my drink. I kept searching for ways to relax whether it was lunchtime walks or Sunday meditations. And while I still love those things, I wasn’t consistent. Sometimes weeks even months would go by without giving myself a proper pause.
Living in London and working in the city can feel hectic always rushing from point A to point B, barely taking anything in. By the time I get home, I’m exhausted! That’s why I truly cherish my 2 to 10 minutes of my matcha moment.
Why Mornings Matter
At Dear Matcha, we believe mornings are sacred. They're not just the start of a new day, they're an opportunity to slow down, reset, and ground ourselves before the world begins to rush in.
A morning matcha moment is our reminder to slow down, tune in, and choose mindfulness.
It begins with intention. We don’t just boil water and whisk, we pause, we breathe, we take a moment.
Whether you’re sitting by the window in silence, journaling, or stretching that moment belongs to you. And that’s powerful!!
Our Matcha Ritual Looks Like This:
- Boil the kettle slowly, listening to the sound
- Scoop matcha gently into our bowl
- Whisk with focus, watching the vibrant green froth rise
- Take a sip, slow breath, no phone, no distractions
That’s why matcha is at the heart of our morning ritual.
We’d love to hear from you!
