How Japan inspired us

Dear Matcha Lovers,

Before we became Dear Matcha, we were travel buddies, always curious, always exploring. We loved immersing ourselves in different cultures, meeting new people, and of course trying new foods.

One of our most unforgettable adventures was obviously Japan. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Japan? The food alone… Omg, I still dream about the tender, juicy beef ramen I had from Kyoto.

But what really stayed with us were the quiet moments in traditional tea rooms, peaceful, slow, sacred. We watched masters whisk matcha with such intention. We tasted it the way it’s meant to be made with presence, care, and calm.

That experience changed us, it reshaped how we view matcha and it inspired the creation of Dear Matcha.

One of our favourite keepsakes from that trip was a picture of all the tools needed to prepare matcha. That picture has turned into a drawing which has now become our very first Dear Matcha postcard.

We’ve always wanted to weave our love for travel into Dear Matcha. That’s why we’re including a free postcard with every order. Each postcard is a small piece of our journey and now it’s part of yours.

Every postcard will come with a matcha recipe inspired by a country we’ve explored. Whether it’s a ceremonial bowl in Japan or a matcha latte from a quirky New York café, we’re bringing you along.

We’d love to hear from you!
